Why have one cover when you have so many ideas?

The great thing about that creative flow is that you can really get yourself into a frenzy. Working with Canva to have their in house GenAI work on creating a cover for Scrooge & Marley An Adaptation of Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol was one of those stressful and funny endeavors.

At times AI captured perfectly the pathos I hoped for in the story. Like the image to this blog. While I adore this cover, it is not practical for the story or the time period. In the end, I generated over 100 images by mixing the words men, Victorian, couple, Christmas, gifts, walking, party, women and men, etc.

This list I edited to about thirty I could see being a cover. I then sent all those images to my beta’s for a suggestion. And what I didn’t expect happened. They all picked 3-4, but each of them selected what ultimately became the final. And given my trust for them all to read and provide the critique of the story, I was not want to change directions for the finished product.

Here are a few of the other finalists.
